Welcome to the world of AVIVA MARBLE
The earliest known examples of geometric patterns made of different materials were found at a temple building in Ubaid, Mesopotamia, and are dated to the second half of 2nd millennium BC. They consist of pieces of colored stones, shells and ivory. Excavations at Susa and Choqa Zanbil show evidence of the first glazed tiles, dating from around 1500 BC. However, mosaic patterns were not used until the times of Sassanid Empire and Roman influence.*
Although geometric patterns went in and out of style over the years, inlay designs, listellos, dados and mosaics are, currently, widely used in architectural designs worldwide .
Not only did the styles of geometric patterns change a lot over the years but the technology has seen some significant changes too. From CNC routing machines to abbrassive waterjets and 3D lathes are being used in the manufacturing of the most amazing geometric patterns in natural stone.
